Castle Montechino

It is one of the most important restoration of a medieval castle.

It is a house of over 3000 square meters of living space. In addition to 300,000 square meters of arable land, fields and forests.

Built in 1280 it was owned by many noble families and has seen within its walls even the Knights Templar.

Unfortunately, the building had suffered much damage, especially during the last world war. During a delicate work that took place in collaboration with the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage and lasted two years, it has been rebuilt exactly as it was during its heyday: the 15th century.

The foundations have been reinforced and rebuilt stone walls, created from scratch the electrical, plumbing and heating.

Rebuilt the roofs and structures, redesigned and made the gardens and restored to its former glory has been furnished with antiques, with some unique pieces such as the huge Murano chandeliers purchased in an antique Venetian palace.

Today is one of the most charming small castles for use by a single family existing in Italy
